Anne Josephson, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist in both New York and Connecticut. She specializes in research supported treatments for childhood anxiety, specific phobias, behavioral disorders, parenting, selective mutism, executive functioning, and depressive disorders. Dr. Josephson has intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Additionally, she is trained in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Dr. Josephson has worked in a variety of settings including Scarsdale Middle School, the Child Mind Institute, and most recently Cognitive Behavioral Consultants. She completed her APA Accredited pre-doctoral internship at Westchester Community Services (WJCS) in Hartsdale, New York.
Prior to being a psychologist, Dr. Josephson worked as a middle school special education teacher on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She holds a master’s degree and Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology from St. John's University, and a dual master’s degree in Special and General Education from Bank Street College of Education. While at St. John's University, Dr. Josephson conducted research on the role of overprotective parenting on test anxiety and test performance on the Algebra I Regents. Additionally, she is a member of several professional psychological associations including the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and a Diplomate and Certified Member of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
Dr. Josephson cares deeply about the individuals and families she works with, and works collaboratively with them to identify their goals in treatment. From there, she identifies ways to meet these goals using science backed treatments and techniques. She takes care in speaking to outside providers, including medication providers, schools and other individuals to maximize treatment effectiveness. In addition, she has extensive experience in psychoeducational assessments. Dr. Josephson works with schools, parents and patients to understand the results of the evaluations, how their challenges impact them on a daily basis, and ways to help them learn strategies to accommodate for weaknesses, and leverage their strengths. She works with patients to help increase their belief in their ability to tackle challenges.
Laura Cyran, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist conducting individual therapy with adolescents and adults. Dr. Cyran has received rigorous training in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has experience in the application of these interventions for a range of presentations, including anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, body-focused repetitive behaviors, depressive disorders, and executive functioning difficulties. Dr. Cyran also specializes in working with adults and adolescents who are struggling with procrastination and perfectionism.
Dr. Cyran completed her Doctor of Psychology from St. John's University. She also holds a master's degree in school psychology from St. John's University and a master’s degree in social work from Fordham University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Barnard College, where she majored in psychology and minored in philosophy. Dr. Cyran completed her pre-doctoral internship and externship training at Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants. Prior to her training at CBC, Dr. Cyran worked as a school psychology extern in the Ardsley, NY, school district, serving the elementary and high schools. She was also a clinician at the St. John’s University Center for Psychological Services.
Dr. Cyran has presented her research in the area of adolescent social withdrawal at national and international conferences. She also enjoys sharing her love of research with undergraduates through teaching research methods and statistics courses. Dr. Cyran is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Psychological Science (APS), Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science (SIPS), Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
Tanika Masse, Psy.D, is a NYS Certified School Psychologist and a Postdoctoral Fellow. She earned her Doctorate degree in School Psychology from Adelphi University and her master’s degree in School Psychology from Long Island University in Brooklyn. Dr. Masse has experience conducting individual psychotherapy with adults, adolescents, children, and their families. She specializes in evidence-based treatments for individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, and trauma. Dr. Masse is guided by the principles of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. She also presents workshops and seminars on topics related to mental health and self-care. Further, Dr. Masse has significant experience conducting psychoeducational assessments, and providing individuals with information based on this testing to help them better understand their learning profile and how it impacts them educationally, and in the workplace.
Dr. Masse’s research focuses on understanding and addressing the unique challenges that people of color encounter in order to create a more inclusive and equitable society. She is motivated to help others develop a better understanding of themselves and their potential. Dr. Masse values warmth, passion, cultural awareness, and authenticity in her practice and is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective therapy tailored to each individual's unique needs.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Masse currently works as a School Psychologist advocating and supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students in educational settings from kindergarten to 12th grade. Dr. Masse completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Huntington Union Free School District in Huntington, NY. While there, she conducted individual and group counseling with a range of students with various social, emotional and educational needs. She completed psychoeducational assessments, and assisted in Committee on Special Education and Instructional Support Team Meetings. Prior to working at a school, Dr. Masse worked at the New Hope Mental Health Counseling Services in Valley Stream, New York. At New Hope, she conducted individual and group therapy with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma and personality disorders, using CBT strategies and principles.
Swathi Jayakumar graduated from Rutgers University in May 2023. While there,she studied Biological Sciences and Psychology. She is interested in exploring behavioral neuroscience and its role in child development. In the future, Swathi plans to attend medical school to become a physician and is interested in working with the adolescent and young adult populations. Swathi enjoys reading, painting, crocheting, and playing guitar during her free time.
